Build-A-Bear Workshop announced on July 9th that July 12th would be "Pay Your Age" Day meaning any child could get a stuffed animal for the price of their age, no matter what the retail price of the bear. Some characters cost upwards of $40 so this was seen as a great deal. What I didn't expect (and what Build-A-Bear didn't expect) was the massive turn out that occurred at each of their locations first in the UK and then in the US. Perhaps I was naive, but I went to my local workshop expecting to wait 1-3 hours, well it was longer than that.
I've been lucky enough to go to Walt Disney World in Florida more times than I can count on two hands, I've gotten out to CA for Disneyland once and Aulani in Hawaii once. However, with a one year old and one on the way, my next Disney trip is far into the future. The plus side to a trip being so far off? I get to save for it! Here are some tips on how to save for your next Disney trip.
Finlandia was founded in the 1950's and has since become known as one of the most highly regarded cheese brands in the US. Finlandia's SnackTime cheese sticks are "Naturally Lactose Free" and made with non-GMO ingredients. Made from fresh, pure ingredients the cheese is aged anywhere from 2 to 8 months and each stick is under 100 calories making it the perfect low-cal snack.
I've had the privilege to visit Walt Disney World more times than I can count on two hands and while I am looked at as some kind of "Disney Pro" amongst a small circle of people, since I found a great community of Disney bloggers I've realized there are a ton of things I've missed both outside the parks and in! I'm constantly cataloging things to remember to do or try on my next visits so today I'm sharing my Walt Disney World bucket list!
Some toys just never go out of style. There is a simplicity to the classic ring stacker or shape sorter and these toys still hold the attention of infant and toddlers. But in today's world of lights and sounds even classics get reimagined. I've put together a list of classic toys that are still available to purchase and their updated counterparts.
In this day and age it seems nothing can be innocent anymore, things that my generation enjoyed as children and teens with seemingly no issue, are now deemed inapporoatie or, the new buzz word "problematic". I've seen articles criticizing the TV shows Saved by the Bell, The Gilmore Girls, and Friends and now I have to hear about how my beloved Disney princesses are also, "problematic".
This party has been a year in the making! Our princess has turned ONE. I first started thinking about it as an event that was a long way off, then I started thinking about it as "okay I need to start really planning" then next thing I knew invites were purchased, decorations were being made and ordered and before I knew it the big weekend was here and I was not (emotionally) ready at all.
I know, I know. I can already feel you rolling your eyes at the title of this post but just hear me out. Having been a dog mom first, I can honestly say there are distinct similarities between having a dog and have a child.
It is no secret that I am a fan of the Kardashians. I enjoy their show (and all of the spin offs) and I really admire how close of a family they seem to be despite their fame, fortune and drama. Now, I'm no Kris Jenner, if I look one third of as good as she looks over 60 I'll be happy, but one tradition she's instilled in her kids is something I plan on doing with mine. Sharing your "peak and pit" at the end of every family vacation.
DIY Highchair Tutu
Princess C's Birthday is coming up and I've been party prepping for what feels like, forever. The invitations have been sent out and I'm waiting for the RSVPs to start rolling in. Currently we are at an extremely slow trickle, I hope the pace picks up soon. While waiting for the RSVPs I've been securing my decorations; purchasing what I can online and browsing through Pinterest for anything I might be able to make. One thing I've seen over and over again is the "highchair tutu" that is used for photo ops during the typical 1st birthday party for a little girl.
