An indoor theme park, indoor water park, observation Wheel and more are set to open this year in North Jersey. Called American Dream, the mega mall is set to rival Minnesota's Mall of America. Featuring thrill rides, high end shops, a hockey rink and so much more!
Shopping. A concept that takes on a new challenges when you have children has now been made easier thanks to subscription boxes that first started as a convenience for adult clothes shopping. StitchFix has added StitchFix Kids to their line offerings but they aren't the only game in town when it comes to at home shopping services for kids.
DIY Feather Centerpieces
I'm at it again folks! Trying my best to recreate pins I find on Pinterest and sharing the results. Recently we baptized our second daughter and since baptisms occur so early in the day (and on Sundays) it isn't really feasible to get flowers for the centerpieces, shops aren't open that early (or at all) for delivery in the morning and while we could have gotten them the day prior, I was afraid they may have started to droop and wilt overnight. So I started searching on Pinterest for non-floral centerpiece ideas that seemed easy enough to make on my own.
Nothing says "I Love You" like a Valentine's Day gift featuring your sweetheart's favorite Disney character. Need something for the kiddos (and their classmates)? I've got you covered! Check out some great gift ideas to have a Very Disney Valentine's.
If you're anything like me you've thought on more than one occasion that having kids closer together in age would mean that you could get out of the "difficult" stage faster. Once one is potty trained you know the other isn't too, too far behind and before you know it you won't even need a stroller! While that may all be true it does not make getting through having an 18 month old and a 1 month old at the same time any easier. The way to survive 2 under 2? Remembering this 1 very important thing.
WARNING. This post may cause you to binge watch yet another show on Netflix. Tidying Up with Marie Kondo. Admittedly I had never heard of Marie Kondo until I stumbled upon a tweet mentioning her new show. What happened next will shock and amaze you, maybe. Probably not. But read on anyway.
StitchFix: My 4th Fix
New year. New me. (insert "Sure Jan" Brady Bunch GIF here). This year has me turning 30. Dun. Dun. Duuuunnnn. It also finds me a few months postpartum so I thought scheduling a fix for the beginning of the year would be a fun pick me up. This is the first fix I've gotten since an update to the Stitch Fix app that allows you to thumb up or down articles of clothing and I was super curious to see how that would translate into my fix.
Here we go again. It seems every other day something is being over analyzed and critiqued. It is really hard to apply "today's standards" to things that were created decades before, but here we are doing it to not one, but two Christmas classics. The first being Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and the second, the Christmas song "Baby It's Cold Outside". I have some thoughts on both of these hot topics.
It's official, I'm a mom of two under two! Now that this is my second time around the block I feel a bit more confident in the sense that at least EVERYTHING won't be new, I'm sure our second born will have things come up that our first never did but for right now I'm feeling more confident in my abilities. Case in point; breastfeeding. The first time around I really struggled, even ended up in the ER (thanks, Mastitis) and ultimately ended up pumping for about four months. This time, I've headed straight to the pump to (hopefully) avoid another trip to the ER and because I know what worked for me last time and what didn't. We supplement with formula as we go and I've been pumping up a storm. Here are a few items that I feel are must-haves for any pumping mama.
First Mindy Kaling came for The Little Mermaid stating it was "problematic", but in the same breath called Ursula the Sea Witch a "great character". Insert the eye roll here. Now Keira Knightly and Kristen Bell are coming for Cinderella and Snow White respectively. Oddly enough, all three of these women have been employed by Disney at one point or another, talk about biting the hand that feeds you, but I digress. Let's break down what each actress said.
