I have a 12 month old. I know, I know, I can't believe it either. Every few months I like to highlight the toys that are really rocking my daughter's world. Today I'm sharing what she is enjoying as a 12 month old.
I have a 10 month old. I have a 10 month old. I have to keep repeating that because I can't believe it. She is growing so fast and though some days feel like they drag on for an eternity, the months are flying by. I've shared what C loved to play with when she was 4 moths, 6 months and 8 months. Today I'm going to talk about what keeps this 10 month old occupied.
Easter is almost here! What better gift to put in your child's Easter basket than a book? Or if you want to build the egg-citement for Easter you can read Easter themed books each night leading up to the fun day!
I love holidays and I love celebrating those holidays. St. Patrick's Day is this Saturday and part of our celebrating has been reading holiday themed books. We talked about Valentine's Day books last month, let's take a look at a few St. Paddy's Day themed books this month.
So much wisdom inside the pages of any given Dr. Seuss book. Today on his birthday, children across the country are celebrating with Read Across America Day. A great way to honor one of the most famed writers. Take a look at some great quotes from his most beloved books and some activities you can do with your children to commemorate the day!
This first year of my baby's life is really flying by. It has been really interesting to see which toys she gives her attention to as she gets older and older. Previously I've shared her favorite toys from when she was a 4 month old and when she was a 6 month old. Today I'll share what she loves as an 8 (!!) month old.
Reading to children is important for their development and a great way for parents to form a strong bond while also decompressing from their long day. Speaking from experience, reading the same books over and over again, though fine for the little ones becomes pretty redundant for parents. Which is why I like to use upcoming holidays as a reason to refresh some of the books in our rotation. Valentine's Day is coming up and what better gift to give your littlest Valentine than a few new books?
A few months back I talked about the toys C most gravitated towards as a 4 month old, now I'm going to to discuss which ones she's liking as a 6 month old.
Reading to your child at any age is a great way to bond, a great way for them to learn and a great way to sit down and relax. Face it. you both need it. The type of books you read will depend on the age of your child. The smaller the child, the more dare I say lame some of the choices are. I have a 5 month old, my choices for her "reading level" are not even necessarily stories but more picture books with words labeling everything. Don't get me wrong these types of books are important for her language development but every once and a while you need to mix things up.
Let's face it, babies get lots of toys and stuffed animals but they don't always seem to be interested in all of them. Princess C has already selected her favorite items at just 4 months old. Some toys get no love while others get all the kisses (and bites and slobber). Here are a few of her favorite things.
