This party has been a year in the making! Our princess has turned ONE. I first started thinking about it as an event that was a long way off, then I started thinking about it as "okay I need to start really planning" then next thing I knew invites were purchased, decorations were being made and ordered and before I knew it the big weekend was here and I was not (emotionally) ready at all.
I, like most little girls had a vision of my wedding from early on. I knew I would want to incorporate my favorite color (pink) and my favorite Disney Princess (Sleeping Beauty) but I also feared it looking like someone dumped a bottle of Pepto Bismol all over the place and a child's birthday party. I wanted the pink to not be too overwhelming and the Sleeping Beauty touches subtle.
My husband and I got engaged on Valentine's Day back in 2015. After going over different schedules we decided to set our wedding date for July 16, 2016, leaving us plenty of time to plan our big day. I'll post about our wedding soon but for now I want to focus on our engagement party because as you'll learn our engagement party and wedding shared a themed; Sleeping Beauty. The engagement party would focus on the first half of the tale when Aurora (Briar Rose) was in the woods and then the wedding would feel like a royal affair.
The birth of a baby is a joyous time for any family. Often births are commemorated with photoshoots either at the hospital or a week or two later, and birth announcements are sent to close friends and family. If you are looking for a unique gift to give the new parents or a new tradition to start with your kids as each new baby is born, then do I have ideas for you!
Disney Movie Club
I am a lover of all things Disney, when I signed up for the Disney Visa Card my hubby wasn't thrilled as he said Disney would just find more ways to get my money through marketing to me via "card benefits". Well, I guess he was right because not too long ago I received a "card benefit" to sign up for the Disney Movie Club to receive 5 movies for only $1 and I did it.
Sofia the First is a Disney Jr. offering about a little girl who becomes a princess overnight when her mom marries the king of Enchancia and now she's gotta to figure out how to do it right. (So much to learn and see...) these half hour episodes often make you say, "hey isn't that..." in regards to charter voices and end with you Googling the episode to see if the voice you recognized is who you thought it was. Sofia the First gets a TON of guest stars and a lot of big names.
Did you know today is Winnie the Pooh day? To celebrate I've rounded up some of the best quotes from the silly 'ole bear himself.
I have no shame in saying I so badly wanted to apply to be a part of this year's Disney Moms Panel however, being that my last trip to WDW was more than a year ago and going to Aulani didn't count (bummer) I was not eligible to apply in September.
Santa Claus came to town and dropped off presents for our Princess at not just our house but all of our relatives houses which meant A LOT of bouncing around from place to place. We made it though! C made out like a bandit let me tell ya. Being that she can't ask for anything just yet I did my best with offering family members useful things; diapers (sorry kid, we need 'em), sleep & plays (those things are fantastic), board books and not really much else. Doesn't sound like those things would take up my entire living room does it? Well, she got all the things I said, and then some.
I love a good tradition! I had some growing up and now that I have started my own family I am looking forward to passing on traditions to C and her possible siblings. While C is only going to be six months when Christmas Day rolls around it is never too early to start traditions!
Here is just a handful of examples of traditions you can start this year!
