When planning trips in the past, typical Google searches would be, "closest restaurants" or "closest bars". But now, traveling with a 9 month old, the first thing I Google are "kid-friendly activities". Going anywhere with a 9 month old is different in a lot of ways; places we visit, types of restaurants we go to and most importantly, what we pack.
I am a lover of all things Disney, when I signed up for the Disney Visa Card my hubby wasn't thrilled as he said Disney would just find more ways to get my money through marketing to me via "card benefits". Well, I guess he was right because not too long ago I received a "card benefit" to sign up for the Disney Movie Club to receive 5 movies for only $1 and I did it.
I love holidays and I love celebrating those holidays. St. Patrick's Day is this Saturday and part of our celebrating has been reading holiday themed books. We talked about Valentine's Day books last month, let's take a look at a few St. Paddy's Day themed books this month.
Sofia the First is a Disney Jr. offering about a little girl who becomes a princess overnight when her mom marries the king of Enchancia and now she's gotta to figure out how to do it right. (So much to learn and see...) these half hour episodes often make you say, "hey isn't that..." in regards to charter voices and end with you Googling the episode to see if the voice you recognized is who you thought it was. Sofia the First gets a TON of guest stars and a lot of big names.
A few years back I was awarded the opportunity to travel out to California for a work trip. We would spend our working days in Oakland and work basically sun-up through mid-night. Due to a misunderstanding with out hosts, my coworkers and I found ourselves with an entire day free of work obligations. We decided to take the BART over to San Francisco and explore.
So much wisdom inside the pages of any given Dr. Seuss book. Today on his birthday, children across the country are celebrating with Read Across America Day. A great way to honor one of the most famed writers. Take a look at some great quotes from his most beloved books and some activities you can do with your children to commemorate the day!
