I loved watching Blue's Clues as a kid and I'm so happy that Blue is back to go on adventures with a new generation! Blue's Clues & You! not only helps young kids with critical thinking but in this new DVD compilation, Caring with Blue, kids are also exploring their emotions! I love a good watch party, so ahead of our viewing we made Blue's Clues inspired Rice Krispies treats!

Blue's Clues & You! Caring with Blue is full of bonus features that include "Learning Sign Language with Josh & Blue" and "Learning How to Wash Your Hands with Josh & Blue". 

The latter is of course very timely and appropriate. Between potty training and going back to school in this "new normal" I have had many a conversations about the importance of hand washing.

I love how Josh incorporates Sign Language into episodes of Blue's Clues & You! along with the video in the bonus features, this DVD also comes with 8 American Sign Language flash cards that feature the more adorable animated Josh on them!

Toddlers and preschoolers have BIG feelings and these 4 episodes about emotion are so relatable; on a personal note my daughter discovered she needed glasses this year and we've watched the episode, "Getting Glasses with Magenta" a few times prior to having this DVD and she loves it each time.

It is not a buzz phrase to say "representation matters" because it truly, truly does. Seeing Magenta go to the eye doctor and pick out glasses, just like my daughter did, made her realize that she is not alone!

Blue's Clues & You Inspired Rice Krispies Treats

I'll be honest. I did not reinvent the wheel here.

​I followed the instructions on the back of the Rice Krispies cereal box. In oder to make my Blue's Clues paw prints I added blue food coloring and purchased a paw print cookie cuter and the rest, as they say, is history.

Step 1: Melt Marshmallows & Add Blue Food Coloring

Step 2: Mix In Rice Cereal

Step 3: Spray Tray with Cooking Oil and Flatten Mixture Out to Cool

Step 4: Cut Out Paw Print with Cookie Cuter & Outline with Icing

Finished Product!
