I'm a Seuss super-fan and I love watching baking challenge shows so when I found out Amazon Prime was coming out with Dr. Seuss Baking Challenge series I quite literally squealed out loud. The topsy-turvy nature of Seuss illustrations and his iconic characters lend themselves well to baking challenges. This series is fun to watch it has all of the elements of a baking challenge series you need with super fun Seuss twists!

Dr. Seuss Baking Challenge | New Whimsical Competition Series Headed to Amazon Prime

Dr. Seuss Baking Challenge Now Available on Amazon Prime
The set of Dr. Seuss Baking Challenge features the team stations you'd expect in any baking challenge show but the backdrop is totally Seussified!

The competitors, or "Seuss Chefs", step into the City of Seuss each episode. The set features bright colors and Seuss icons like the hot air balloon from "Oh the Places You'll Go", snow-capped mountains and Mt. Crumpit from "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and the City Hall of Whoville!

Each episode has an over-arching theme of one of Dr. Seuss's famous works. Episode one kicks off with "Cat in the Hat" other episodes feature "Green Eggs and Ham", "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", "The Lorax", and "Horton Hears a Who".

Dr. Seuss Baking Challenge | Seuss-isms Galore!

How Tamera Mowry-Housley doesn't end up tongue tied reading her script, I'll never know! She makes an excellent host and spouts the rhymes of Seuss with ease. Tamera Mowry-Housley is energetic, encouraging and dressed fabulously in each episode!

Every episode features rhymes and play on words that Seuss fans will love. The show captures the heart of these famous Seuss stories and the world of Seuss while the bakers, erm, Seuss Chefs really treat each character they interpret or sculpt with care.

Dr. Seuss Baking Challenge | Classic Baking Challenge with a Seuss Twist

The challenge starts with nine teams of two. The first three episodes are the "qualifier rounds" with each pitting three teams against each other.

The qualifier rounds will see nine dwindle down to six and then the remaining six are up against each other in the 4th episode.

In every episode there are two challenges, the first titled "The Thinker Upper Challenge" and the second, "Oh the Bakes You Can Make Challenge".

The winners of the Thinker Upper Challenge are given Seuss prizes and advantages for the Oh the Bakes You Can Make Challenge.

Dr. Seuss Baking Challenge perfectly combines the drama of baking competition shows (cakes falling over, chocolate not tempering, running out time etc) and the whimsy of Seuss.

This is a fun watch for the whole family and while not overtly holiday-themed, other than the Grinch episode, it still feels like you should watch this series while a fire roaring and a Who-Roast-Beast in the oven.
