If you're like me when it comes time to wrap birthday presents or Christmas/holiday presents you go out and buy fresh rolls of wrapping paper and bags only to find out that you had a whole stash from the previous year hidden away somewhere. Well I had enough and decided I need to get organized and give myself a proper wrapping station. The hubby didn't see the need but now that we have our daughter, I'm going to need a space that I can go to and wrap gifts in peace and hopefully store them away from spying eyes as she gets older.
I will admit this is something I probably wouldn't have thought of if it wasn't for Pinterest and I will have to give a big shout-out to The Container Store because that is where I purchased all of the items shown in my wrapping station. (This is not an ad, they are just the best).
You can find a ton of pins when you search "Closet Wrapping Station" and some are much more elaborate than others and some aren't even closets but entire rooms (I wish).
To make wrapping station happen, I took over one of the closets in a spare bedroom. There are a few things that I still need to add; a table for actually doing the wrapping on (I'm thinking a folding card table) and some supplies that will stay there so I always know where they are; tape, and scissors. But the bones are there so I think I'm in pretty good shape.
On the back wall of the closet, underneath the clothing rack we hung two of the "efla Accessory File" to house my gift bags. I separated out all of my Christmas bags from my birthday and baby shower bags that way it is easy to see what I already have and will help save me money next time I need a gift bag.
The shelf above the clothing rack was already there so now I am using that to stack any boxes, bags of bows and other extra items I may have.
I'll be the first admit it isn't worthy of a magazine but this is totally functional and exactly what I needed to get some piece of mind and to work on decluttering my life and home.
