Full disclosure I had never seen the first Peter Rabbit movie and I really did not know what to expect when sitting down for Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway.
What I found was a self-aware rabbit voiced by the always funny, James Corden. A lot of the jokes in the film are geared towards the parents the writers knew would be watching, which I appreciated. Because of the more adult-natured (not risqué by any means) jokes, adults in the room may find themselves laughing more than their children! Toddlers and preschoolers will have a good amount of the jokes go over their heads but will laugh at the overall silliness of the film and Peter's antics and slapstick and physical humor (is it still physical. humor if it is animated?). Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway is rated PG for "some rude humor and action" Age recommendation for Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway: 6+ The CGI of this film is stellar however given that it is a hybrid live action-animated movie I think children may need to be a bit older to stay with the 1 hr and 25 minute long film. Younger children can certainly watch but I do not know if they will stay engaged the entire time.
