Lipsense Review

Watch out LulaRoe there's a new Facebook group sales push in town. If you haven't seen videos of women applying lipstick and then trying to smear it around their face, to no avail or kissing their mirror to show it simply does not come off I feel you may be in the minority. Let me mention that I am not nor do I plan on becoming a seller of LipSense I just had to give it a try and now I'm sharing my experience with you.
LipSense is sweeping Facebook and Instagram as the latest makeup product you just have to have. The claim for this product is it can last all day and you kiss, sip and try to smear it away but it ain't gonna happen. Offering a wide variety of colors and gloss finishes LipSense is trying to break through an already pretty saturated lipstick market. Why keep reapplying lipstick or lipgloss when you get do their 3-step process and keep your color all day?

The process; apply your color once (fan dry), apply the same color or a different color over it (fan dry) and then apply your gloss (available from really glossy to sparkles to matte) and then your done.

For my first purchase I got a starter kit that included one color, one gloss and the "oops remover". Full discourse I have yet to need the "oops remover" so I feel like I spent more money than I needed to buying this set as I really only needed the color and gloss. The gloss I selected is the "glossy gloss" which makes your lips look exactly how you would imagine, glossy. I'm not one for bold lip colors so I went with a pale pink color, Apple Cider.

I mentioned the process above which if I'm being honest (and I am) it seems a bit over the top for applying a lip stain. Also, LipSense application comes with rules. You apply the color in one direction on each lip, do not apply going from one side to another and back again. THIS IS IMPORTANT. After you apply your first layer on both lips let it dry. Use your hand to fan at your lips for a few seconds and then repeat the color. Again fan your lips before applying your gloss.

When I first opened the tube of color there was a strong alcohol smell, which luckily is explained in the instruction manual you receive with your purchase. The alcohol helps keep bacteria from growing in the tube and also helps restore your lips. It is a bit off-putting but does not stay with you after application.

After applying I'd be lying if I said I didn't kiss the back of my hand to see if any color came off and well, it did but only a little bit. The color definitely lasts all day and ones the gloss wears off the color actually does not come off when I kiss my daughter's cheek or on my coffee mug.

I don't know if I will purchase any more colors from LipSense as the price tag is a little steep for a stain but the color lasts all day long so I guess we'll see what happens once I run out.

If you've purchased LipSense let me know your thoughts on the products in the comment section!
