MomLife confession: I rarely eat lunch and when I do it is usually my kids' leftovers of half-eaten sandwiches. I have no trouble getting my kids lunch but when it comes to me it just seems like too much effort! Splendid Spoon makes lunch easy with their microwaveable soups and grain bowls, they also offer juices and smoothies for those busy mornings of rushing the kids off to school. Recently I tried some of Splendid Spoon's Immunity-Boosting offerings and now I'm ranking the ones I've tried and sharing what I loved, what I liked and what I wouldn't want to get again.

Splendid Spoon | Immunity-Boosting Meals & Smoothies, An Honest Review
When it comes to meal kits and meal subscription box services there are A LOT to choose from. Most of these services however, require some prep work and cook time. Could be 30 minutes, could be 60 minutes from the time you start making the meal to the time you're actually eating it. Another thing about a lot of these services is they focus on dinner, but what about the other two meals of the day?
Enter: Splendid Spoon. Splendid Spoon puts a focus on breakfast and lunch (though they do offer dinner, more on that below) and getting your butt out the door as quickly as possible as you drop kids off at school, pick them up and run them to one practice or another. Splendid Spoon offers juices, smoothies and bowls that are portioned perfect for lunch and can be heated up in the very container they were sent to you in - just make sure you take the lid off and remove the plastic seal under the lid before popping it into the microwave. Their juices, smoothies and bowls are plant-based, nutritious and offer lots of benefits, like immune-boosting ingredients. Splendid Spoon Immunty-Boosting Meals | What I received
I'll start this by saying I did not select the juices, smoothies or meals I was sent for this review. When you purchase a plan from Splendid Spoon you are allowed to customize your offerings, per their FAQ's they state that you can choose from "50+ meals and customize your order every week". Even further, you can create a list of ingredients that you'd like to avoid and flavors that you never want to get.
Since we are still in this in-between time of winter and spring, giving a boost to my immune system was certainly something I was interested in and this box was curated to do just that! I was sent four bowls, two juices, three smoothies and immunity shots. Juices
1. Green Dream Juice*
2. Tropical Greens Juice
*Kristen's Choice. This was my favorite of the two green juices. I thought the Tropical Greens had a bit too much of a "bite" to it, I imagine it comes from the ginger. Review: Trying Splendid Spoon for the 1st Time Smoothies
1. Mango Guava Smoothie*
2. Power Greens Smoothie
3. Carrot Ginger Smoothie
*Kristen's Choice. I cannot tell a lie. I loved the Mango Guava Smoothie. It was my favorite thing in the entire box, not just of the smoothie choices but of everything I received this time around. It was seriously so good. If I were to rank the three smoothies against each other I'd say Mango Guava 1st, followed by Carrot Ginger and then Power Greens. I tend to like sweeter smoothies and Mango Guava was sweet without being overly sweet but the Carrot Ginger was just missing a bit of sweetness for me, I think the ginger and lemon juices really overpowered the bananas and dates. 1. Cauliflower Potato Chowder (soup)*
2. Spiced Lentil & Chickpea Stew (soup) 3. Coconut Curry Brown Rice (grain bowl) 4. Aloo Gobi Quinoa (grain bowl) Splendid Spoon does offer "noodle bowls" but those are designated for dinner. There are plans that offer just breakfast, just lunch, breakfast & lunch, and breakfast, lunch & dinner. *Kristen's Choice. The Cauliflower Potato Chowder felt like a warm hug. It was creamy and rich without feeling too filling, if that makes sense. I felt very satisfied after eating this chowder but I did not feel overly full at all. If I had to rank these four offerings against each other I'd place the Cauliflower Potato Chowder in first, followed by Aloo Gobi Quinoa (after I picked out the mushrooms), Spiced Lentil & Chickpea Stew would be third and Coconut Curry Brown Rice in fourth. Fun fact about me though, I do not like coconut, and I do not have the palate for curry so perhaps you should take this ranking with a grain of... Himalayan Salt ;-) Splendid Spoon Immunity-Boosting Meals | What is an Immunity Shot?
Shots from Splendid Spoon are small, 3 fl oz bottles that are advertised as "providing a quick and easy dose of nutrients".
Shots offered include Immunity Shot, a Detox Shot, a Digestion Shot, and a few others. The Immunity Shot includes the following ingredients:
This shot has some bite to it, no doubt due to the cayenne, however it feels like a good kick. Since there is only 3 oz to drink it goes down quick and the spice doesn't linger for long. I really enjoyed drinking these shots. Related: Is Wantable Better Than Stitch Fix?
Splendid Spoon was founded by a woman (a busy mom!!) for other busy parents who never give themselves the time to have a healthy breakfast or lunch. I like the convenience of not needing to break out the blender in order to have a smoothie, and not needing to wash a dish after I've eaten lunch.
Call me lazy if you want, but these are real timesavers for me that make totally make Splendid Spoon worth it!
