(For reference, "Mormor" is pronounced "more-more", something I learned from this book!) "Adventures await, if you close your eyes & shout

The Adventures of Lily Huckleberry in Scandinavia | My Thoughts
The Adventures of Lily Huckleberry in Scandinavia is an absolute joy to read!
At first, I thought this book might be a bit too long for my children as they are both under the age of 5 and this looks like a thick book when you pick it up and I thought there was no way we would get though it in one sitting. BUT, there are a lot of pages (like the one above) that feature almost full page illustration with just a few lines of text so the story itself isn't really as long and drawn out as as it may seem. This book is so engaging! There are multiple instances where the book asks you to recite a mantra of sorts, with Lily and that really gets my two excited - we often shout together, "take me to a hullaballoo!" Both of my girls have sat through this entire thing multiple times and they continue to ask me to read it to them again and again. Related: Children's Book Review Astoria Learns to Swim The Adventures of Lily Huckleberry in Scandinavia is a beautiful hard cover book with a very impressive binding, something that you do not see very often on children's books these days. Another thing that makes this book stand out is it comes with a high quality patch! Lily earns a patch for her adventures across Scandinavia and at the back of the book there is a patch for your child too! Children can earn adventure patches along with Lily as she travels through other magical places through additional books in this series! During her adventure Lily meets an elf, a mermaid, talking mice, the Queen and vikings! The illustrations are bright and colorful, and appear to give a nod to the kawaii, as many people throughout the book feature big, oval eyes with specs of white as their pupils - this only further adds to the whimsy of it all! I cannot gush about this book enough! It is one of the more original concepts for a children's book I've read, it is so well done! About the Audrey Smit
