The Best Toys for 8 Month Olds

2/26/2018

This first year of my baby's life is really flying by. It has been really interesting to see which toys she gives her attention to as she gets older and older. Previously I've shared her favorite toys from when she was a 4 month old and when she was a 6 month old. Today I'll share what she loves as an 8 (!!) month old.
While these links may be affiliate links, all of these toys were purchased by myself or family members. We did not receive any of these toys for free and I'm sharing an honest recommendation based off of watching my daughter.
Fisher-Price Kick & Play Piano Gym

C has had this for a few months now but as she's gotten older she's starting to understand it more and more. Ever the vain little girl that she is, she likes to lay down and look at herself in the mirror. She also is grasping the concept of making the piano play music with her feet and also with her hands when she turns herself around to face the keyboard. The keyboard detaches too for use for older toddlers.
Bright Stars Walker

Our Princess loves roaming around the house in this. At first she could only manage going backwards but now she has mastered moving forward too. The horn on the steering wheel beeps and plays short songs too. This toy however has opened my eyes to all the things we need to baby proof in the house now that she is mobile!

VTech Touch & Learn Musical Bee

The is a very smart bee. She teaches colors, shapes, numbers and sings songs! Added bonus? It appears the antennas are perfect for a teething 8 month old to chew on.
VTech Sort & Discover Activity Cube

I mentioned this in my post about her favorites as a 6 month old and this one still reigns supreme. With "1, 2, 3, 4, 5 - 5 sides of learning fun" this still keeps our baby girl very entertained.
Leap Frog My Pal Violet

Another toy that was mentioned in my 6 month post, Violet is still a near and dear friend to C. We use her as our nap time pal as she has a setting for 5, 10 or 15 minutes of "bedtime music". Ears are perfect for chewing on and she plays songs and also guessing games; "Can you guess what I am? Moo..Moo.."
It will be interesting to see if any of these toys are still go-tos when C turns 10 months old. I will keep you posted!
