Recently we went to a Christmas festival and at one of the stations they set up a super fun, easy and low-mess Grinch paper craft. This holiday craft requires few supplies and very little prep and it's toddler friendly!
Toddler-Friendly Grinch Craft
Green construction paper
Red construction paper
Yellow construction paper
White construction paper
Depending on the age of your child you can either cut the construction paper beforehand, help them cut it or have them cut it themselves.
Start off with the green construction paper and cut it into what I would call a figure 8 shape. Rounding the top and bottom. This will make your Grinch head.
Next, cut the red construction paper into the Grinch's hat. You can make a large triangle (attempt 1) or cut the paper into a slim hat in the style of the kind of hat that the Grinch wears in the original Seuss cartoon (attempt 2). The station at the Christmas festival had red hats in different shapes and we used each of them.
The red paper will also be used for his eyes along with the yellow construction paper. The white will be the strip of his Santa hat and the cotton ball will be the pom at the end.
Once all of the shapes are cut out simply glue all of the pieces to the green head. If you have a toddler you can place the glue on the different spots you want the pieces glued to or put the glue on the back of each piece and have them place the pieces wherever they see fit.
After all of the pieces are attached simply draw a nose and mouth, I made ours smile but that's not required. You can opt to give your Grinch his signature scowl.
