5 Unique Ways to Celebrate the Birth of a Baby

4/5/2018

The birth of a baby is a joyous time for any family. Often births are commemorated with photoshoots either at the hospital or a week or two later, and birth announcements are sent to close friends and family. If you are looking for a unique gift to give the new parents or a new tradition to start with your kids as each new baby is born, then do I have ideas for you!

Name A Star After The New Baby

There are many websites out there who will name a star in the sky anything you'd like, for a fee. While these names might not be used by astronomers from here on out, you will receive a certificate and a map of the location of your star and a big circle around your star. If you have a child who is a Capricorn you can pick a star in or around Capricornus and so on for the other Zodiac signs.

Get A Print Out Of The Night Sky At The Exact Time Of Birth

In the same vein as purchasing a star, you can purchase the entire sky (or at least a print out of the sky) from the night baby was born. You can select the exact time of birth for the print out and it makes for a great keepsake for either the parents or child to have as they grow up.

Receive A Card From The White House Celebrating The Birth Of The New Baby

If you are planning on mailing out birth announcements, might want to print out a few extras. There are unique places you can send a birth announcement and receive a card back. One of those places being 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. That's right, send the White House a birth announcement and that current administration will send back a card welcoming the new baby to the world. Due to high volume it could take upwards of six weeks to receive a card back.

Receive A Card From Mickey Mouse Celebrating The Birth Of The New Baby

Much like the President, Mickey Mouse too will send an autographed postcard back saying "Hi-ya" to the new bundle of joy. More than likely Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Donald will be included on the card as well. You can send the announcements (and any fan mail for the Mouse in Charge) to:

Walt Disney World Communications
P.O Box 10040
Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830-0040

Receive A Special Letter From Santa Claus Prior To Baby's First Christmas

If your family will be celebrating Christmas, receiving a letter from Santa Claus marking baby's First Christmas will be a fun keepsake to have for years to come. There are many companies out there who will allow you to select the letter head you'd like and either a pre-made letter or type your own letter to be sent straight from the North Pole! As kids get older these sites also offer "clue kits" that show the Big Guy in red was really there. This is something you can do every year or just the years a new bundle of joy is celebrating the holiday.
