Valentine's Day Books for Babies and Toddlers

Reading to children is important for their development and a great way for parents to form a strong bond while also decompressing from their long day. Speaking from experience, reading the same books over and over again, though fine for the little ones becomes pretty redundant for parents. Which is why I like to use upcoming holidays as a reason to refresh some of the books in our rotation. Valentine's Day is coming up and what better gift to give your littlest Valentine than a few new books?
Laura Numeroff is famous for her "If You Give a..." series and "Happy Valentine's Day, Mouse!" brings together all her beloved characters. Mouse, Moose, Pig and more! It does not rhyme but it is a quick read. The illustrations are great and the sturdy board book pages are perfect for little, grabby hands. No fear of pages ripping here!

I just LOVE the Llama Llama series. I mentioned this little guy in a previous post about books you can read to your infant and "Llama Llama I Love You" follows the same rhythmic style of other Llama Llama books as it shows him making cards for his mama and getting gifts from mama too. Available in board book style so again, as baby grabs for the pages there is no need to worry about tearing!

"My Fuzzy Valentine" follows Elmo as he tries to figure out who sent him a valentine. In this book we see our favorite Sesame Street friends; Zoey, Cookie Monster, Grover, Bert and Ernie! This is a touch and feel book which makes it even more fun for your little one!

Are you even celebrating a holiday correctly if Charlie Brown is not involved? This board book is perfect for little ones who have yet to see the TV special, A Charlie Brown Valentine and is a perfect way to introduce them to these beloved characters.
*Bonus* For older children who have longer attention spans, are not reaching out to rip pages and who may have seen the TV special there is a paperback book that is the retelling of the beloved cartoon. You can find it here:
