When Batman, Robin, and Batgirl are captured, the Batcomputer brings the Bat-Vehicles to life. The newly-minted Batwheels must defend the Batcave and face off with the Legion of Zoom – all without Batman’s help! The new series, DC Batwheels will be DC's first EVER Batman preschool series and the prequel special Secret Origin of the Batwheels will premiere as part of Cartoonito on HBO Max on Batman Day (September 17th). Disclaimer: I was given early access to DC Secret Origin of The Batwheels for review purposes. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Secret Origin of the Batwheels | Prequel Special ReviewBatman, Batgirl and Robin are in trouble and the only ones that can save them are... their vehicles? That's right! Secret Origin of the Batwheels has a lot of ground to cover and this prequel special knows it. The special is fast-paced and is one, continuous storyline for the near 30 minute runtime. There's lots of action to keep children engaged and guessing what's going to happen next and, as is the case with other Cartoonito-created shows and specials, it teaches lessons like the importance of teamwork and never giving up on yourself! Related: Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed | Movie Review The animation of Secret Origin of the Batwheels is very vibrant in color; the Joker's hair REALLY pops off the small screen! Speaking of the Joker, this special and forthcoming series will feature some true villains and while they certainly aren't super scary, they are probably the most scary bad guys in a series for preschoolers that I've ever seen. Cartoonito is using Secret Origin of the Batwheels as a prequel to the forthcoming DC Batwheels series, the first Batman preschool series EVER! Having Batman enter the preschool world is a genius move because kids can now get excited about this DC superhero team through an age-appropriate channel. In the special viewers learn what happened to Batman, Batgirl and Robin and how Bam and the rest of the vehicle crew are able to talk! Viewers also find out that the good guys aren't the only ones who have talking vehicles (dun, dun, duuuunnnnn!) Kids will love the talking cars, planes, motorcycles and more and grownups will love sharing their favorite comic book characters with their kids! As with any fandom, you can never start 'em too young! BOTH of my girls were ready to claim Batgirl as their Halloween costume after viewing Secret Origin of the Batwheels and I think that tells you all you need to know about the future for clothing, toys, and accessories for this brand. I love the direction Cartoontio has gone with creating preschool-appropriate shows featuring beloved characters their parents and caretakers know so well (see also: Bugs Bunny Builders). DC Batwheels | Series SynopsisThey are a team of incredible crimefighters who have banded together to oppose evil, combat crime and clean up the streets of Gotham City. They are…okay, they’re NOT Batman and Robin. They’re the Batwheels - an awesome group of sentient super-powered crime-fighting vehicles defending Gotham City alongside Batman, Robin and Batgirl. Having just been created by the Batcomputer, our heroes are essentially kids with little to no life experience. Led by Bam (The Batmobile), the Batwheels - Bibi (The Batgirl Cycle), Redbird (Robin’s Sports Car), (Batwing the Batwing Jet Plane), and Buff (The Bat Truck) – must navigate the growing pains of being a newly formed super team as well as the growing pains that come with just being a kid. This relatable and aspirational series will follow the journey of this dynamic team as they thrill and entertain with their heroic adventures as well as demonstrate to kids the value of self-confidence, friendship and teamwork.
