When it comes to recipes I have one motto, the less prep, the better. That's why I love meals that call for very few ingredients and this meatloaf recipe is no different! Not only that, but I'm actually share three different ways you can make this meatloaf.

Six Ingredient Meatloaf

What You'll Need
1 lb of ground turkey (or beef whatever you prefer)
1 cup of breadcrumbs (I like Italian Style)
1 cup of milk
1 egg
1/2 of onion (or less depending on your taste)
1/4 cup of Ketchup

Instructions

The thing about meatloaf, it's so easy! Take all of your above ingredients and and combine them together in a large mixing bowl. That's it! Once all the ingridents are mashed together, spray a loaf pan with cooking spray and pour your meat mixture into it. Bake at 350 for about an hour.
Six Ingredient Meatloaf Plus Two Ways to Substitute It

Six Ingredient Meatloaf Substitution Number 1

I know I kind of glazed over the original recipe but that's really not what I wanted to talk about. One night I decided I wanted to make meatloaf and after I started prepping I realized I was out an ingredient. Dun Dun DUNNNNNN. There were no breadcrumbs in the house. At this point I was in too deep to meatloaf making to turn back so I started looking around for anything that could possibly work and I found Ritz Crackers.

I'd say it took about a sleeve of crushed up Ritz Crackers to get me to 1 cup.

From there you follow the above recipe.
Combine your ground turkey (or beef), onion, egg, milk, ketchup and cup of crushed Ritz Crackers in place of breadcrumbs and your golden!

Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour.

Six Ingredient Meatloaf Substitution Number 2

Here's where things get crazy. Say you have your meat, your breadcrumbs, your ketchup, and your onion BUT you don't have any milk OR egg. What's a girl to do?Turn this six ingredient recipe into a FIVE ingredient recipe and JUST ADD WATER.

To recap mix your pound of ground turkey/beef with your 1 cup of breadcrumbs  (or if you really want to get crazy use Ritz Crackers), your ketchup and your onion and then instead of egg and milk mix in 3 tablespoons of water. Bake at 350 degree for about 1 hour.

I will say without the egg or milk the meatloaf does not bind together as well so when you make your slices and try to get it out of the pan it won't be as well formed but I promise it will taste just as good.
