I'll be honest, whenever my young kids ask to "help" in the kitchen I cringe a bit. It is hard for me to measure out all of the ingredients and make sure everything is prepped correctly while also trying to keep my kids from knocking things over and making a big mess. They enjoy helping and I want to give them those happy memories but I also value my sanity. Enter: Baketivity. Disclaimer: I was provided a three membership to Baketivity free for review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Baketivity Makes Having Kids in the Kitchen A Lot Less Stressful! | Baketivity ReviewBaketivity sells single baking kits and offers monthly subscriptions, turning baking into a family-fun activity! Boxes I received during my review period were an Earth Day cookie cake, a Dirt Pie (complete with gummy worms) and refreshing lemonade cheesecake cups. Per Baketivitiy's website, the single (one time kits) currently offered include cake pops, cookies, cupcakes and so much more! Related: Splendid Spoon | Immunity Boosting Meals Review What's fun about signing up for a subscription though is you'll receive one child's sized chef's hat and apron! Parents of more than one, you can purchase a hat and apron set off of Baketivity's website under "Shop Single Kits" -> "Shop Accessories". Subscription options offered by Baketivity are monthly, 3 months, 6 months or yearly. You can cancel or pause your subscription at any time! Baketivity Review | Novice Baker Friendly! So how does Baketivity take the stress out of having kids in the kitchen? Baketivity sends you all of the dry ingredients you'll need for that month's recipe and (this is the best part) they're all pre-measured! No fumbling with flour and no way for my kids to spill an entire bag of sugar! Each ingredient is labeled with an easy to read, can't miss sticker. Also in the box is the instruction booklet. That's important for baking something from scratch, right? Related: Kencko Smoothies Review This instruction booklet is easy to follow, (even for a certified non-baker, like me). How much of a novice am I? I bake with "break and bake" cookies and I always use a box cake mix. Each month's booklet was easy for me to follow, so I know you can do it too! Important to note. Baketivity does NOT send any wet ingredients. Wet ingredients I needed throughout my three recipes included eggs, water, oil, and a lemon. PRO TIP: Check the booklet for which wet ingredients you'll need and make sure you have them in stock in your kitchen BEFORE announcing to your kids you're going to bake in order to avoid a meltdown. Ask me how I know? (I didn't have a lemon!!) Baketivity Review | Final ProductsBelow are the three delicious creations we made together! Our Earth Cake could have used a more artistic person piping the countries on it but hey, it tasted good and that's really all that matters. The Dirt Pie was everyone's favorite. Fun to make, we all loved crumbling up the chocolate cake and super yummy! The Lemonade Cups were the most technically tricky. I needed to break out a hand mixer for this one. That might not sound like a lot to you but for me, it was the box that required the most work - our final product was really tasty though. Thinking of signing up??
