2020 is a big year for Sesame Place, located in Langhorne, PA, this year marks the 40th birthday for Sesame Place. Big plans were announced prior to the unforeseen circumstances that have taken over the first half of 2020. Instead of opening back in spring, Sesame Place has remained closed throughout most of the summer season. Last week it was announced that the home of Elmo, Big Bird and the other lovable, furry monsters would open on Friday, July 24th! Sesame Place to Open July 24thSesame Place, like other theme parks who have reopened will require guests to make reservations in advanced upon visiting. Sesame Place's current schedule only shows for the park opening on the weekends; Friday, Saturday and Sunday from July 24th (a Friday) through November 1st (a Sunday). Their schedule then shows Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays available again beginning Saturday, November 21st through January 3rd presumably for their "A Very Furry Christmas" celebration. Guests and Team Members will be required to have their temperature checked prior to entering the park. Face Coverings. Guests 2 years of age and older are required to wear face masks, unless they are eating, in one of the relaxation zones or on a water ride. Social Distancing. Signage and markings will be visible throughout the park promoting social distancing. Guests can still see their favorite furry friends, from a far. Sanitization. Hand sanitizer stations have been added throughout the park and the cleaning schedule has be increased. As mentioned above, to help facilitate social distancing, guests will not be able to touch Sesame Place characters however they can wave from the proper distance. Parades and Shows. All parades will be temporarily unavailable. As per the official website, the outdoor, street show "Our Street is Sesame Street" is suspended as is the indoor "Elmo the Musical Live!". Neither "Let's Play Together" or "The Magic of Art" have a notice on the website indicating these shows will not be available upon park opening. Restaurants. Restaurants will have their seating arrangements adjusted to allow for proper distancing. Condiment stations will be closed. Utensils will be prepackaged and guests will refillable products will receive a one-time-use alternative. Buffets will be adjusted or closed until further notice. Rides. Queues for lines will be marked for proper social distancing between parties and hand sanitizer stations will be added to the entrance and exit of each ride.
